Book Week

Next week the whole school is involved in Book Week. Students will work with their house groups and will go to a different teacher each afternoon (Monday - Thursday) to enjoy a picture book and a related fun activity.

The culmination of our Book Week will be the book character dress up parade at 10am on Friday morning. Start planning your outfit now! You don't need to buy or hire costumes, but you do need to include some clues as to who you are as part of your outfit.

In room 1 we are going to have a competition to see if we can guess who everyone is dressed up as. So don't tell everyone who you're going to be, make them guess on the day. There will even be a small prize for the best dressed. Whanau are welcome to join us for this, we'd love to have you along.

Skool Stars

In term 2 Skool Stars came to our school. Every class had a different song. Our class did Blame it on the Boogie by the Jackson 5. We practiced our singing with Mrs Coyle. Then we made up moves. It was hard remembering all the moves and words. Next we got put into 3 groups. Each group had to dance to a different part of the song. Every day we practiced singing and dancing. Group 3 had to work on timing for their solo parts. When rooms 2 and 3 were out we went into their classrooms and used the stage and music to practice. In week 5 Skool Stars came to record our singing and film our dancing. We squeezed in lots of practice before filming. Each group went up and danced in front of a big green screen. We were nervous. If we wore green we would not show up in the final copy. We could still dress up. Some people wore afro wigs. It was lots of fun.
